The only thing the Baby Alien did right today is say the COT was a piece of crap!! Oh, yeah! He said he “screwed up”. How humble. Congrats!

I was really hoping that Jeff Burton would just knock his “you know what Uranus rules” out of the way!

I obviously got to watch the race and have access to a computer.

My Grandson “Chase” (get it?), whose Mommy is a big Kevin Harvick fan was real upset. He was screaming:

” I wanted Jr. to win!!”

 

The worst thing that happened today?

I was rooting for frickin’ Jeff Gordon at the end of the race.

**heavy sigh…** Robby?  Hang in there. I still luv ya!

 Tony? Well, my driver will never change. No matter what.

Ryan? Keep your chin up Buddy-buddy. The times they are a changin’… Keep the Faith.

NASCAR Bristol Astro – Predictions

In case you don’t know what my version of the only way the COT can truly make the races more fair, free of cheating and based on the sheer athletic and driving skills of each driver, I figured I better post them again.                                                                                                                                                         

Bristol!! COT!! Bristol!!

Controversy. Tempers. Aggression!!     

Mark Martin would have won this race!!                                                                                                                 

 

Tomorrow’s scope’s for Bristol have every aspect that signifies the above, in nearly every driver’s chart. One common denominator is  Mars anything Pluto, which is normally about a good time to make babies, also signifies extreme animalistic aggression and tempers. Here are the driver’s who have the aspect as the strongest aspect in their ‘scope:

Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson, Jeremy Mayfield, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Dale Jarrett, Jeff Gordon, Martin Truex Jr., Robby Gordon, Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray, Denny Hamlin, Juan Pablo Montoya, Casey Mears, and Scott Riggs.

Tony, Jimmie, Carl, Kasey, Matt, J. Gordon, and Martin Truex Jr.  and Ryan Newman all have positive aspects that should balance out the temper issues enough to keep them focused. I don’t expect any of them to get a DNF, anyway.

Tony and Zippi’s scopes are very synchronistic, and the this particular combination of aspect’s usually earns them a win. BUT Jimmie and Chad have the aspects in their ‘scope that always bring them a win.  BUt, then again, Jimmie’s Moon goes void of course this afternoon and he usually wrecks on those days.

The near perfect ‘scope’s this week? Dale Jr., Kurt Busch, Elliot Sadler, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth,  Kyle Petty, and Jeff Burton. Dale Jr.’s entire ‘scope is posted at Infield Parking.

Kyle Busch ‘scope show’s a  little trouble. Robbie Gordon’s does too. Truth is…both those ‘scope’s show big troubles and disappointments and terrible temper issues. I adore Robby Gordon. You Robby fans, remember…this rough spot is only for a short while.In a few weeks he will be sailing out of it.

NHRA Star Eric Medlen Passes Away

It’s a sad, sad, day in the racing world today. Eric Medlin passed away this afternoon. Eric crashed into a guard rail on Monday in a test session at Gainesville Raceway.

You can see Eric here in this video racing the John Force at the 06 National Finals. 

NHRA President Tom Compton issued a statement on the passing of Funny Car driver Eric Medlen.“Words cannot describe how everyone at NHRA is feeling after the passing of one of our brightest young stars, Eric Medlen. He earned his way to the top through hard work and perseverance and, in doing so, gained the respect of his fellow competitors.Eric was a great spokesperson not only for John Force Racing but the sport of NHRA POWERade Drag Racing and he will be forever remembered for his enthusiasm, uplifting personality and ever-present smile. He was destined to become a great champion in the sport and all of us at NHRA are grateful and fortunate to have shared in some of his glory.Eric left this sport far too soon and his absence will be felt by everyone within the NHRA racing community. On behalf of everyone at NHRA, I want to send our sincere condolences to the Medlen family and John Force Racing.

Astro-Predictions for Bristol.

We are still packing and loading and packing and loading. What a freaking pain.  I wish I weren’t so paranoid about having mover’s come in and do this, but I am. Not that they will break anything so much as steal. I have heard so much bad about mover’s here in the area, that I trust none of them. Therefore it is taking forever.

We have to be at the mine this weekend as the people Dale will be working for are going to be there. We will take the toy/car hauler full of stuff to the ranch, drop it off, spend Saturday night in the 5th wheel and then come home Sunday evening.

I am working on the ‘scopes for Bristol, so they will be up this evening.

NASCAR was in Atlanta…

O.k., so my interpretations were way off this past Sunday. Sort of. I knew Jimmie and Tony were linked up somehow, and they were. I was positive they would probably wreck each other and at the end I was yelling “Whooooaaaa!!! It’s gonna happen!” “I told you!”. Dale of course, being the Libran that he is, loves it when I am wrong. He doesn’t just kind of feel some satisfaction. He loves it. Libran’s are generally very competitive. They, however usually don’t think they are. My best friend is also a Libran. Her birthday is Oct. 10th, the same day as Dale Jr.’s. She and Dale are quite a lot alike.

The move is taking so long……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..>

I still have so much to do. Our goal was to be done and leave on Wed., but there is no way that is going to happen. I understand why people hire people to come in and pack and move for you. This is a giant pain in my you know what.

There are downfalls to getting people to help you when the majority of what you tend to collect is rocks, and books. You know…really heavy stuff. I also have a penchant for antiques and other oddity’s. Lot’s of tiny breakable stuff. Our furniture? Well, while it is very cool…it is also very large and very heavy. Bulky.

The absolute worst thing right now is the dreaded packing of the die-cast and the rest of the NASCAR stuff. All at once. We have our own collection, besides our inventory, and just the tubs and tubs and tubs and crates and stand-ups and car pieces and I wanna say “You get the picture.” Trust me. You don’t. (**Heavy sigh…)

I am really going to miss him. My daughter has stayed here in the house for us while we have been gone so much this past year. I can’t believe he is six month old now.

That also means I am six month’s out on the leg/ankle break. I cannot believe how freaking long that has taken and my doc says I am 4 month ahead of schedule?  Boy, did I learn a lesson there. I think.

Yeah I did. Don’t drink on or before, or after the week that a California race falls on.For those of you that are new to my blog or have forgotton the little syncronicity and timing…the break of the leg was the Thurs. prior to when we were leaving for Fontana, and the Fontana race before that ended me in the hospital too….I fell off  our bus and bumped my head and wracked my back all up, after a few too many of David Stremme’s sponsor’s product. Well, it was Sterling then….

Anyway, I have decided that I will no longer participate in drunken childish acts of fun.

I shall only do them sober, and never on the week of a Fontana race.

I am muttering…tired and should just shut up and go to bed, huh?

NASCAR in Atlanta ~ The Astro Remake of “Song of the South” again…

I mean NA$CAR.
Atlanta Motor Speedway… Ryan Newman, in the#12 car, after losing his #1 position is relaxed, yet focused at the rear of the line. The Rocketman sits…ready…waiting…knowing he is going to kick some butt today. He’s in good company sitting back there with Dale Jarrett. D.J. is feeling very disappointed today. Ryan knows what his horoscope says for Atlanta, and affirms to himself:

“My influence’s today stimulates my physical vitality, giving me the chance to work hard and accomplish much. My health is good during this time, and I am able to approach everything I do with vigor and self- confidence. And this carries over to the psychological level as well, as an ability to assert myself toward others and stand up for my views in any controversy. The crowd watches in anticipation as the race begins.

Lap 1: Ryan Newman is humming to himself :

Lap 100

Ryan thinks about Carl Edwards ‘scope which is also pretty good, tho not as good as his own.

Tony is heard singing, on his own Directv channel:

Zipp-a-delli-doo-dah! Zippi-delli-ay!

My! Oh my! What a wonderful day!

Ryan snicker’s as he passes him, seeing some frustration suddenly all over Tony’s face.

Tony remembers “Wait!!” “I can control my temper!” “I am in love!!” “It doesn’t matter if the Alien’s stole my happy pills today!”

Meanwhile, the Alien’s, disguised as the Busch Brother’s, are both feeling very intense, tho in different ways. Kurt’s awareness of his personal relationships are overcoming his drive to win. He may not be giving his all out of loyalty, but is tiring of this, and quickly. His little brother has handled himself like a gentlemen lately but that may come to an end today. Although the crowd may not realize there is tension between the Brothers Busch, the stars show that there are. “Hmmm…” Kurt thinks to himself.  “I might have to kick his little rear end pretty soon.”

  Matt Kenseth might be feeling like Eeyore today. Hope I am wrong there.

Halfway through the race, Jeff Gordon is driving his heart out. He is struggling internally with his love of racing, and the awareness of Life itself. He is thinking he needs to be more careful. He has a child coming. He loves his wife. He wants to be with them for as long as he can. He is “Aware” and thinking of his own mortality now. He no longer feels that he can be reckless in anyway.

Dale Jr. is dealing with a lot of intense feeling both on and off the track, in every area of his life. He may feel a need to retreat and be by himself this evening.

Robby Gordon also is feeling a lot of intense feelings. Some triumphant, some satisfaction and is very happy to have a sponsor on the hood of his car. He is still in the astrological place where his own anger can get in his way right now. He is truly trying to work out his own inner issues. He truly has the total benefit of all in mind. This is also a time where no matter what Robby does, it will attract communication and attention from every conceivable corner of his life. In the long run, it will pay off. That is all that matters. Oh yeah…the other thing that matters is he will have the Motorola Logo on his car. Period. 

Politics and Na$car. Imagine that.

Jeff Burton after all the excitement of winning the Busch race agin this week, may suffer from an adrenaline crash today. Not a literal crash, but an emotional one.

David Stremme is feeling very good about himself today. He is confident and knows something exciting is happening to him. Look to see him a whole lot more in the future. Big things are coming…

Towards the end of the race it all come down to luck, skill and oddity. Today is also a NEW Moon, on the day of a Solar Eclipse. With this also affecting all the aspects, who knows what could happen. We know it will be fast. We know who’s going to be singing. There will be some surprises.

I don’t know if wearing my Tony jammies like I usually do on race day will help or not. I know I am wearing my Ryan’s Lucky Stars Hat” I think I will wear my cute little pink and black Ryan shirt too. Might as well stay comfy, and wear my black wide legged, cropped sweatpants too. I can feel cute and stylish.

Nope. Can’t do it. Just thinking about it makes me feel like a Traitor. I am wearing my orange and black Tony jammie bottoms with my Ryan hat and shirt. Or layer the Ryan shirt over a Tony shirt over a Robby shirt. Or vice versa. I am wearing the hat tho.

O.K.

Maybe I won’t look as cute as I want, but I will be rooting for my Driver’s.

**By the way, NEXTEL/SPRINT? The attempt to remove the Motorola Logo on Robby’s car does not exactly make me want to run out and subscribe to your services.

NA$CAR? Are your attempts to gain more and more money in your own deals and contracts, going to screw your driver’s out of getting sponsor’s, which would screw you out of money by losing teams? Please. Let’s just get back to racin’. Pretty Please?

Blah dee dee blah. Jimmie is the only outstanding ‘scope. Ryan looks better than usual as I posted yesterday.  I look for Jimmie to win by a mile. and Ryan to get a top ten along with Tony if Tony keeps his head. He needs to learn to spread some love energy to this track. Then the track might be nicer to him.

** Now in hindsight I was right about a few things .

1. Kasey did need to just skip this race and go take a nap.

2. Ryan had a good day.

3. Tony had a decent day. Jimmie and Chad? Well, what more can I say about that…Congrat’s to Jimmie and Chad and the entire team. When they are on, they are truly on.

NASCAR ~ Jeff Burton wins!

 Wow!! What a great race!! Congrats to Jeff Burton. He drove like the veteran he is. Jeff Burton showed the gentleman that he is by driving to Kyle Busch to see if he was ok, before he went to the winners circle. Before he let any fanfare be focused on himself. That is a true man. That is true sportsmanship, something that recently our sport has lacked. Jeff Burton showed what kind of a man he is today. He showed us his inner true self.

I am now making an Official Declaration from my not always humble self. A promise (tho as a mortal woman…I do reserve the right to change my mind at any given moment.) to Kyle Busch:

Dear Kyle,

     I will never call you Big Baby Busch again. You wanted to win that race badly. It’s your home track. You drove beautifully and fairly. I have said all along that you have the potential to be one of the greatest driver’s to ever grace NASCAR, if you grew up and changed your attitude…if you learned from your mistakes.

Today should be one of the proudest moments of your life. Your actions and attitude, when the microphones were immediately in your face, no time to plan what you would say or posture to the press, showed that you no longer need the name I have been calling you.  You responded as a Man would. You responded as a good Sportsman should. You responded as a Role Model to children should. You were disappointed, sad and deservedly so. Your actions and responses are to be commended.

All parent’s have a time that they realize emotionally, that their son or daughter has truly become an adult. Your parents may have already had that moment and have just been waiting for the public to see and realize it.

I want you to know…I saw it today, Kyle. You took this day as a Man. I commend you and gained a tremendous respect for you.  You graduated in my eye today to the standing of an Adult.

 An Alien Adult, but an Adult no less. If you continue with your Manly behavior, and continue to be respectful and Earthling Manly, I will even cancel my membership to that other club I belong to.

NASCAR Daze in Durkee, Oregon

 
I woke up this morning at 5:30 AM, hot flash roaring like an internal inferno. AAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGG! Growling, I threw the covers off me, and a cat flew across the room. “Great.“  “Sorry Kitty” I said. She glared at me, and trotted off to another room, her tail flipping angrily side to side. I laid there wondering why I was on the couch. I looked around for Dale and wondered where the heck I was even at. The surroundings looked familiar, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then wondered if I was dreaming. “Yeah, that’s it, I am really still asleep.” I closed my eyes in my dream to go back to sleep…Five or so minutes later: Hot Flash again. Covers off again. Sweat….Rip off my Tony jammies…again saying… AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGG! With a heavy sigh I opened my eyes. 5:40 AM says the clock. I am still in the familiar, yet, not familiar room, on a couch that is not mine, with a very angry cat coming down the hall glaring at me. Then I realize, it’s not even our/ my cat. Our cat is 18 years old. Yellow. Sleeps a lot. He is a he. He moves very slowly. He came to us declawed. This cat is a pretty calico which means it is a she, and she is not happy and can move quite quickly. She has claws. MEEEEOOOWWWWW! She charges me. I jerk my feet up just as she pounces. She looks at me and jumps again, wrapping her legs around my arm, digs in with her front claws, is kicking with her back claws and bites my hand. My confusion clears as my skin is pierced and blood runs down my arm and hand, trying to protect my naked breasts from the beasts attack. Whoa Kitty…Nice Kitty. She purrs and curls back up where she was sleeping, before I threw her off at 5:30. Purr…purrrrr.Purr… purrrr. Kitty looks at me sweetly and goes back to sleep in her sleeping spot.  I look around. I remember where I am and where Dale is.I wasn’t dreaming. This is real. Why am I so confused? Did I have a stroke? Some kind of mental breakdown? I try to stand up.I am dizzy and my head is pounding. Whoa. I sit back down and stay clear of the cat. Now I am freezing. I put my Tony jammies back on, along with a fleece jacket that is lying on the floor, next to the couch. My titanium ankle/leg is killing me. My throat is killing me. My chest feels like a roll of 200 MPH duct tape has been tightly wrapped around me. My back seizes up as I move. I am in OR and Dale went back to ID to pay bills and grab a load of stuff from the garage to prepare for the big move to The Ranch. I didn’t go because it has been snowing for days, and we were afraid of leaving our 5th wheel to the elemental powers that Be. The roof can only take so much weight and snow is heavy. I did not want to take this cruddy Durkee virus home to the grand-babies. We are watching a freind’s home and kitty while she is out of town. We moved our 5th wheel here to her land, but we have been sleeping in her home, as it is warmer and there is no need to double the power bill, or go through a ton of propane to keep our 5th wheel warm. I have the heat in the 5th wheel on low. It keeps the snow from freezing and allows for easier knock off. I slipped yesterday, when I was walking out to the 5th wheel. In a massive effort to not twist my broken leg, I twisted my back and I went down to the ground. My Dad used to call me Grace for a reason. All my life…Grace follows me wherever I go. A ballerina of clumsiness, I am. Be careful you say? Whatever. That takes too long. I am outside, on my hands and knees, mentally feeling my ankle/leg to see if it’s OK. It is. I am grateful that I took the time to put gloves on. Because I still have a few limitations with the foot/ankle/leg, I cannot get up from this position without something to grab onto. I am going to get to crawl through the snow to the 5th wheel. Great. I really hope no one drives by and sees me. This is a town of 60 people. We are “outsider’s”.  If you have ever lived in a small town. you know how what I am talking about. Everyone knows everything about everyone else, and what they don’t know they just make up.Fer-inst-dunce:My daughter accidentally transposed a number dialing us, and called the lady at the store. She said Dale’s son was in Boise and was trying to get a hold of Dale, thinking she was talking to our friend whose home we are watching. The next thing we know the other neighbor lady (who is very nice) is at the door in her pajamas, saying “Dale! You need to call Kimi. Your son is in jail.”You get the jist.

This is a really small town… vicious in it’s winter boredom and  creativity for gossip. I don’t need anyone to see me crawling in the snow. I hear a car. I drop flat and pray that my snow path I have created, is hiding my maroon “call attention to me” snow-pants. I think to myself; “Whew! That was close”. I begin my trek towards the 5th wheel. I grab onto the step and start to try to pull myself up. Suddenly I hear a voice say:  “Are you o.k. Clance?” Ohhh… no. My Dear God in Heaven! It’s the lady from down the road. Where did she come from?I am doomed to be the laughing stock of Durkee, OR.,  forever…and ever…Amen.“I am fine. How are you today?” said I, “The crazy NASCAR miner lady from the Canyon that broke her ankle leg trying to pretend she was in the Dakar Rally…”

“She was drunk and hit the side of a building you know.”

” Now they are moving here.”

” To the Big Ranch in the Canyon.”

” Just how did they get that place anyway? “

” I saw you fall as I was walking and I wanted to make sure you weren’t drunk.”

“It’s cold and if you passed out you would die out here.”

” By the way, I heard your moving to The Burnt River Ranch.”

” I didn’t know it was for sale. It’s one of the oldest places around, you know.”

Yeah, I know. It is the biggest too. 1750 acres of rattlesnakes, all looking for someplace to go when it is 115 degrees outside this summer. My big… green… cool… shady… yard.

” Are you mining it?”

Uh…no.

” Are you buying it?” she asks again, prying for answers.

Uh…no… “We are care-taking it for the owner.”

“How much do you have to pay? How do you know them? When are you moving?” ” Where is “G” (our freind who’s home and cat we are watching) anyway?”  “What is she doing that is keeping her gone so long?”

I feel battered by the assault of questions… on  defense. On the ground, near the 5th wheel, near de’ – fence.

I think to myself: “None of your friggin’ business.”

I smile and say: “Could you give me a hand?” “Would you like to come in and have a latte? I also have french pressed, fresh ground, french roast Starbuck beans?”

She looks confused, takes my hand to assist me in standing, smiles and says:” No, thanks.”

“I am on my way to the Post Office.” ” I better get going…Just wanted to make sure you were ok.”

 She trots right off. Back to the car I hoped didn’t see me.

“Buh- Bye!” I say, fake smile pasted on my face. “Thanks!” ” See ya!!”

 Then I panic. I go into the house. Take a pain pill, a muscle relaxer and some cold medicine.

Fell asleep waiting for American Idol to come on.

Wake up at 5:30 in a state of confusion and remember:

I am the flame that fuels the fire.

 I am the fresh fodder to be stepped in.

B.S. is slippery stuff.  Oh, well.

It will give me beautiful fodder to endlessly write about.

I have a feeling I shall never have writer’s block again…

I watched Back in The Day today which featured the 1974 Daytona 500. I have the 1/24 scale diecast of the car Richard Petty drove that day. It’s one of my favorites. Iwas enjoying iut peacefully when, suddenly! Something caught my eye. It was the most wonderful car I had ever seen. I began to covet. I wanted it more than any car I have ever wanted or seen. Then I came to my senses and realized:

Chances are they will never make a diecast of the Safety Car in that race.

Alas…

My dreams shall probably never come true.

Speaking of safety, I wish the media would stop showing the “David Reutiman,  knocked out and struggling in the hardest ever recorded hit in NASCAR” video. It makes me sick to my stomach. I do not believe that should be allowed. It bothered me a lot at the time and the more I think about it, the more I think that that kind of in car coverage should not be shown until after the driver has been thoroughly checked out and is known to be completely ok. He wasn’t. What if he had passed away from brain swelling suddenly the next day, or God forbid, have died minutes after…or during? How far will NASCAR let the media go? The in car viewing should be regulated. Fox showed the video from the cam way too fast and was very unsettling. Think about it. If that in car cam had been available when Dale Sr. was killed, would you want to see it? I doubt it, unless you are one sick psycho.

I don’t consider intelligent media to be anywhere any more, covering any subject. It’s all the same quality with different spins. Bad…sicko…psycho.

Besides that, how can anyone ever mess up anything worse than poor Howard Stern’s name?  What happened to his radio show? How come he has started using his middle initial so much? What’s that about? Think people will think it’s not really him?

In Colorado, a woman sold her baby for $1500.00. She took $500.00 of the money and used it as a down payment on a car. By the way…she was here visiting long term from Mexico. more…

Where is the public outrage about that? They are busy emailing CNN, to let the, know the “public opinion” on whether or not a child should be removed from a family who has obesity issues. They are busy spending their money on The Secret. Duh. The Secret is nothing new. However, it doesn’t work when you are greedy. What was it that Jesus taught? Ask and ye shall recieve. Seek and ye shall find. What are the first few words of the Bible? In the beginning there was the Word. The Word was Life. It is no secret. But go ahead and spend your money on another cure all to get everything you want.

Speaking of NASCAR: 

A hacker in the Daytona area didn’t like NASCAR. Someone posted a nasty message for Daytona 500 race fans on one of those electronic highway signs.The message board read: “NASCAR sucks. Go home.” The sign was alongside I-four. I also found in my search results of the day this blog, blogging about NASCAR Bloggers.

Snicker. Funny. Luckily there are some excellent NASCAR blogger’s out there.   Yesterday The Diecast Dude wrote about an ESPN Journalist blogger?? carrying a sign to point out the media’s attempt to be intelligent and fresh re: California Speedway and NASCAR.What else can I say?
