Benny Parsons RIP

Sad news…Benny Parsons passed away this morning. He was only 65.
He was diagnosed with cancer in his left lung in July. He had quit smoking in 1978.
Benny had been declared “cancer free” in Oct. The treatment cost Benny his left lung. He was hospitalized Dec. 26th, when his Dr.’s found a blood clot in his right lung. He was transferred to ICU shortly after his admission, and he remained there in an induced-coma, until his death this morning.
You can email your condolences to Benny’s loved one’s here:

Benny was a Champion, not only in racing, but in life. From a taxi driver to a NASCAR Cup Champion to a television broadcaster, he was the best at what he did.
We will all miss him greatly. Live NASCAR commentary will never be the same.

Our prayer’s go out to his family and friend’s. May they be comforted in their grief and rejoice that his suffering is over.

Rest in Peace Benny….and Godspeed.

  1. “Live NASCAR commentary will never be the same.” Clance’, you are so right. Benny Parsons had class. I learned almost everything I know about NASCAR from Benny Parsons and Ned Jarrett. Benny Pasons will be missed.
